Dear Parents, Guardians and Children,

As we come to the end of a very busy year the Governors wanted to thank you all for your constant support for and help in, the school.

Last week, 9th July, we listened as our School Council told us of all that they had achieved this past year and it makes great reading. They have been very busy looking at the meals in school and supporting other pupils. It was clear that they felt that they had made a difference and you should be very proud of both their commitment and their pride in their school.

As usual at this time of year we are saying goodbye to some staff and welcoming others who are joining our school family. I particularly wanted to say thank you and goodbye to our Interim leaders Ms Mahil and Mr Gardner. Their leadership and support for the school and our children has made a clear difference and I am sure that I am speaking for us all as I wish them the very best in their new jobs and direction. To all those moving to new pastures, I sincerely hope that you are happy and successful in whatever that might be and thank you all for your work in the school. To those joining us, we are looking forward to working closely together to keep on improving the teaching and learning in our school.

We especially hope that all of you and your children enjoy the summer break and for our Year 6’s that they enjoy the success they so richly deserved in the end of year exams and that their move to their chosen secondary schools goes smoothly. We shall miss them but hope that they will be able to come back and share with us their future successes.

September 2019 and the new school year will come all too soon and our new leadership under Kate Davies our Headteacher, and Emily Hicks our Deputy headteacher will be looking at how to continue to improve the quality of teaching across the school as well reviewing our strategic direction. With our Ofsted inspection behind us now, the school is well placed to more forward and become the successful school it deserves to be.

We will continue to keep you, our stakeholders informed of any changes in staffing or other matters whenever necessary, and we hope that you know how much the school values you all and your support for the school.

We hope that you have an enjoyable and safe summer break,

Yours sincerely

 Carole Ann
