The Pines School

  • We have self-belief
  • We seek challenge
  • We build community

Daily Collective Worship

At The Pines School collective worship is set within the context of ‘assemblies’, which may include other features besides those required of collective worship.

Our aims and purpose of collective worship are:

  • to provide an opportunity for children to worship God

  • to provide an opportunity for the children to consider the purpose and meaning of life

  • to enable children to consider spiritual and moral issues

  • to enable children to explore their own beliefs

  • to encourage participation and response

  • to develop in children a sense of community spirit

  • to promote a common sense ethos with shared values and to reinforce positive attitudes

  • to promote the values of a Rights Respecting School

  • to provide an opportunity for calm reflection.

Right of Withdrawal

We expect all children to attend assembly. However, any parent can request permission for their child to be excused from attending religious worship and the school will make alternative arrangements for the supervision of the child during the period concerned. Parents do not have to explain or give reasons for this. This complies with the School Standards and Framework Act 1998.

A copy of the Collective Worship policy is available from the School Office if required.
