Our school prefects are our model pupils. Prefects are honest and trustworthy and can be relied upon to carry out any task asked of them. Our prefects take pride in The Pines, completing daily tasks as part of a team to support both staff and children in our school. Our prefects model the high expectations we set all our pupils through making smart choices and always wearing the correct school uniform.
Head Boy and Head Girl are selected during the Summer term before they enter Year 6. These students are carefully chosen by the Senior Management Team, who spend time looking through attitudes to learning, participation in wider-school life, attendance and uniform.
For this academic year, 2016-2017, our Head Boy is Harley Elsley and our Head Girl is Samudita Mysore. The Senior Leadership Team, along with input from their prior class teacher, felt both of these students exemplified what it means to be a Pines pupil to the highest manner. They are exceptionally well-mannered and exude pride for their school. We are delighted that they are in post and look forward to seeing them flourish as junior leaders.
Year 5 and 6 were invited to complete an application form expressing why they would be an excellent candidate for prefect. These applicants were then shortlisted and interviewed by the Senior Leadership Team, alongside the Head Boy and Head Girl.
We are delighted to announce our prefect team for this academic year:
Niamh Power (Year 6)
Lily-May Bale (Year 6)
Tarith Alawatta (Year 6)
Louisa Ackroyd (Year 6)
Chloe Swindells (Year 5)
Our School Prefect Team are selected on a basis of continued good merit. They have consistently proved themselves to be outstanding role models to all pupils in the school. They have been recognised by the senior leaders of the school as caring, courteous and considerate members of the school community who show exceptional politeness and good manners to everybody at all time. They are willing to go above and beyond expectation to ensure adults and children alike are happy and feel welcome. They show a commitment to their learning and work exceptionally hard at all times to produce work of the highest standard. Similarly, they show a commitment to the extended curricular activities both in and out of school. Their co-operative attitude shows their exceptional leadership skills within a team and makes them outstanding models for fair play. Alongside our Friendship Squad, your prefects will be happy to help you with any difficulties you may be having in the playground or around school.
