Since September, a large number of The Pines School Choir have been tirelessly learning an enormous set of songs, both in and out of school. These songs have stretched them, as they sung through many different genres, in languages including Africaans and Welsh and performed with dance moves. One song was even accompanied with sign language throughout. They were not easy to learn! A number of our choir, were also simultaneously learning complex Christmas song, ahead of the choir performances throughout December. Learning all these words and moves off by heart was no easy feat.
But they did it! On Friday 20th January, along with Mrs Smith, Mrs Price and Mrs Stewart, they traveled to The O2 Arena to take part in the Young Voices Concert. They joined over 8000 other children and performed to a sold-out audience.
After countless long rehearsals and a very long day itself (10.30- 00.00!) we can all enthusiastically say, 'It was worth it!' It was the most amazing experience and one we will certainly be taking part in again. Next year we hope to take even more! Watch our movie below to see a snapshot of our amazing day.
